Hi everyone!

I'm Adrian, a self-taught landscape photographer based out of Adelaide, South Australia.

My partnership with the camera started only about 4 years ago, before this I had no knowledge at all about photography and I never would have imagined that I would be where I am today, and this is only the beginning!

Most of my inspiration comes from the amazing landscapes available to me in Australia.
I grew up moving all around this country, following my father as he was moved by the ADF. I have been fortunate enough to see so much and I now want to revisit it all and share some of the sights with you all the only way I can.

Why 'Aquilapse'? Well, I always wanted to move away from just "Adrian X Photography" and have a name that is more unique to me and bears some sort of meaning. Aquila, is a constellation, Latin for Eagle (Nothing says freedom & adventure more than birds, right?) It also sits within the Milky Way, the source of my passion so far. Not much needs to be said about what looking at the stars on a clear night can do to you.
This and my new love for making time-lapse videos pointed to a pretty obvious choice for me, now I just hope it sticks!

Comments, favourites and any kind of interaction on my work gives me a huge boost to keep going, so feel free to let me know what you think!

Prints are available upon request too. I don't upload everything at full size, so if you see something you would really like just send me a note!

The XII by Aquilapse
No road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne would be complete without taking the Great Ocean Road. While the inland track has it's own beauty, I think this stretch of coastline is one of the best in Australia, if not, at least the most visited.

The Twelve Apostles, by the forces of nature were formed by gradually eroding the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then became arches, which in turn collapsed; leaving rock stacks up to 45 meters high.

Fun fact: There was only ever '9 Apostles'
Abrasive by Aquilapse
Case in point, I took my hiking boots off and forgot my feet don't have quite the same grip and promptly took a seat on some of these rocks.
Stay safe people.
No cameras or camera equipment were hurt in the making of this image.
